Show & Activity Updates (updated October 2, 2009) |
Amber is the lone liver & white girl in our household of English Springer Spaniels. She is a very friendly 19" girl who loves her playmates "Gertie", Ch Bondir's Irrepressible Gertie & "Rosalie", Bondir's Rose de la Kermesse. Amber was whelped December 6, 2000 and is the second Libby daughter to join our crew. We love her attitude and personality. (Back)

Amber
placed 4th in the 7-9 Veteran Female Class at the ESSFTA National Specialty in
September 2009 in St. Louis (Judge Beth Speicht). She was handled by Lynn.
Amber
finished both her CKC AGN & AGNJ titles in August of 2009 at the Alberta
Kennel Club Shows in Springbank Alberta. She received her last two Jumpers
legs (handled by Stu) with a first & second class placement (she had a
previous leg handled by Lynn). She obtained the first leg of her AGN at
the NACA June 2009 shows & then 3 more legs at the Alberta Kennel Club Shows,
all with class placements -- a first in class, a second in class & a third
in class -- all legs handled
by Anne.
Amber
finished her Canadian Rally Novice title (RN) at the NACA Shows in June of 2009
with two qualifying legs. She obtained her first leg at the Alberta Kennel
Club show in January of 2009. She was entered in 3 trials & qualified
each time, handled by Anne. She finished her American Rally Novice title
in May of 2009 -- she had qualifying scores at the Wisconsin ESSA Specialty with
a second class placement, at the all-breed show on the Friday before the
Specialty, at the ESSFTA Nationals (with a class placement) & at the Dallas
Fort Worth ESS Specialty in October of 2008. Four trials, four legs, all
handled by Anne.
Amber won Veteran Female at the Wisconsin English Springer Spaniel Association Specialty May 2009 under Breeder/Judge Larry Libeu. At the same show Amber won Best of Opposite Sex in Veteran Sweepstakes under Breeder/Judge Gary Zayac. She was handled to these wins by Lynn.
Amber finished her American championship with a fifth major on September 23, 2006 by going Best of Winners at the Helena Montana Kennel Club Show under judge Richard Byrd. She was beautifully shown by Shannon Scheer, CPHA.
Amber was also the recipient for 2006 of the Best of Opposite Sex Award (breed level) from the English Springer Spaniel Club of Canada. She was Specialed on a very limited basis so we were very pleased.
Amber won
the large Open Bitch class at both the October 1st, 2005 & October 2nd, 2005
Monroe Kennel Club shows in Monroe
Michigan. These shows were held in
conjunction with the IESSC Symposium. Saturday's judge was British
English Springer Spaniel breeder Ray Smith (Melverly), Sunday's judge Australian
English Springer Spaniel breeder Kay Keely (Alhambra). Amber was expertly
handled at these shows by Karen Miller. Amber just needs 1 single point to
complete her AKC championship.
Check out her picture from this show. (Click on the
picture below to have it open in a larger version.)
Amber completed her Canadian Championship in 2002 as a 15 month old, completely breeder/owner handled. She obtained her first six points from the puppy classes. She has 4 majors in the U.S. for 14 points, expertly handled by Shannon Scheer CPHA. She is pictured below obtaining her first U.S. major in June of 2003 under judge Howard Falberg.
Amber obtained her PCD (Pre-Companion Dog) title in August of 2003 with her novice handler Stu. We look forward to her entering the Novice ring soon.
We had the opportunity to attend the Eastern Slopes Spaniel Association Hunt tests in August of 2004 & after the tests we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to introduce Amber to birds. She experienced her first bird retrieves & especially loved the opportunity to swim. We hope to be able to pursue this opportunity in the future. (Back)
